QR Business Card

vCard is a standard file format (.vcf) for electronic business cards. It stores contact information like name, phone, email, and address in a structured format that contact apps can read. When encoded as a QR code, scanning it automatically opens your phone's contact app with all fields pre-filled for easy saving.

Most modern smartphones can scan vCard QR codes natively. On iOS, use the built-in Camera app. On Android, use Google Lens or the default camera app. The contact information is automatically recognized and the phone offers to save it to your contacts. No special QR reader app is needed.

QR codes have a data capacity limit of about 4,296 alphanumeric characters. A typical vCard with name, phone, email, company, title, and address fits well within this limit. However, keeping the data concise produces a simpler QR code that scans more reliably, especially when printed small on business cards.
