Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a medical color blindness test?▼
No. This is a fun color perception game, not a clinical diagnostic tool. It tests your ability to distinguish subtle color differences but cannot diagnose specific types of color vision deficiency. For medical evaluation, consult an ophthalmologist who uses standardized tests like Ishihara plates.
Why do I find some colors harder to distinguish than others?▼
Human eyes have three types of cone cells sensitive to red, green, and blue light. Most people find green-yellow and blue-purple differences harder to detect because these fall between cone sensitivity peaks. Monitor quality, viewing angle, and ambient lighting also affect perception.
How does monitor quality affect the test results?▼
Higher-quality monitors (IPS panels, higher bit-depth, wider color gamut) display more accurate and distinct colors, making the test easier. TN panels have poor color accuracy at viewing angles. Brightness, contrast settings, and Night Mode/Blue Light filters can also affect your ability to distinguish subtle color differences.
